Author Lorelei Bell: About The Correct Feeding Position For Vampires

Vampire's Trill - A Novel by Lorelei BellLorelei Bell, author of the Sabrina Strong Series, has started some research into the feeding habits of vampires and was advised that a proper feeding position is mandatory to assure a pleasing feast. It appears that all new-born vampires are in need of some advice. As part of her investigation into the matter, Lorelei has interviewed the ultimate expert, Bjorn Tremayne, the powerful magnate in the Chicago business world whom we know so well from Vampire Ascending, and now Vampire’s Trill, the first two books of the Sabrina Strong Series.

“When you approach your victim from behind you can get to that juicy jugular properly,” explains Tremayne. “If done from the front, it will feel awkward, and things can get messy if your fangs don’t hit the vein just right.” [Read the full article...]

And it seems that Lorelei is a very busy woman. Just the other other day she was interviewed by HOT BOOKS DAILY. Her is an excerpt from the interview:

When and why did you start writing?
I began writing in high school, in another millennium (laughs). I took a Creative Writing class with a friend of mine and we wrote poetry (of course), but then we both began writing novels later on. I actually thought at one point I’d be the female version of Stephen King—as if!
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by a lot of things. Over the years it’s a little hard to separate all the things that keep me writing—especially after having to trudge through rejections for years. If I have a new WIP, that excites me, the characters or a scene that wakes me up and have to write it out—things like that. Other authors also can inspire me.
Is there anything you do NOT like about being a writer?
I did not like having to query agents, and wondering why they didn’t like what I sent them. It was a really depressing time for me. Now, things are changing so fast I can’t keep up. I have what’s called a micro publisher. They edit my books and find a proper book cover, and then promote it. I make royalty. Very nice that I don’t have to do all the work or pay for this like I did with my first book which was self-published. [Read the full interview...]
