Reagan Wilda
I have been fortunate enough to live in New England my whole life. I spent the first eighteen years on beautiful Cape Cod, and then moved to western Massachusetts where I met my wonderful husband and step-daughter. At the young age of 31, I feel like I have had many accomplishments.
My most recent and perhaps most significant accomplishment, is the birth of my identical twin girls. After a frightening and difficult pregnancy, my twins were born 11 weeks early and with some preliminary health problems. They both had to undergo surgery within the first few months of life and spent a total of 52 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
They were so small, their cries could barely be heard, but eventually all our tears of sadness turned into tears of joy and they are now home, healthy and happy. It amazes me how much I have learned from them in their short time here on this earth. They are so incredibly brave and strong, and they have given me the ability to look at my life from a different perspective.
In addition to communicating with other parents, I hope to use writing as a way to express to my children the experiences they had so early in life. I want to set the best example that I can for my girls and I hope to follow my dreams so that I can teach my girls to follow theirs.
