A few weeks ago, I installed the Shopp e-commerce plugin, and over time I noticed a decline in visitor numbers, however, without making the connection to the e-commerce software. I also noticed a slowing page loading, which should have led me immediately to a database problem, but at the time I was confident that that had been taken care of.

In the course of the last two months or so, I received in the neighborhood of 60 ~ 70 classified ads, and they were ALL from India. I thought about adding some text to the pages, saying that spammers are wasting their (and my) time by posting, since each entry is manually approved by the administrator. However, it is my experience that these guys don’t read.

In the “old days” embedding YouTube videos was only possible through incorporating Java code – as provided by YouTube – into your post. You had to do it in the HTML editing mode, and you didn’t dare to go back into the “Visual” editing mode. WordPress is at times highly allergic to implemented Java or HTML code and just removes it in Visual mode.
