In the entertainment industry, an admission of homosexuality was once a career-killer. Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Elton John helped change the idea of what a lesbian or gay man looks like. Today celebs are coming out of the closet and their careers are suffering none for it.

Lost in Translation: Adapting a Work of Literature

On August 2, 2012, in Ronnie Massey, by Ronnie Massey

As an avid movie goer and lover of books, if there’s a movie that I want to see and it’s an adaption of a novel, I tend to read the novel first. Almost 90% of the time, the novel is LOADS better than the movie. Often time adaptions fall very short. Such is the case with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Truly Blessed – Thoughts by Ronnie Massey, Author of “Crimson Dawn”

On July 10, 2012, in Ronnie Massey, by Ronnie Massey

I was recently told by a book blogger that although they reviewed my first novel, Crimson Dawn, and loved it, they would rather not review my latest novel, UnBound: Battle of the Half-Angels. Why? Because I am a lesbian trying to promote what is essentially, a Christian-fantasy novel and they anticipated negative feedback.

The Lonely Life of CAPS LOCK – An Essay by Wilfried F. Voss

There is this one shiny item on each keyboard: Caps Lock. After all these years, it is still clean. On my laptop it is the only key that comes with a light (LED). On my desktop hitting Caps Lock (usually by accident) triggers a noise (beep). And, despite all the efforts to make its use attractive through lights and beeps, nobody wants to use Caps Lock.

Angels 101: An Introduction by Author Ronnie Massey

When the idea first popped into my head for my latest novel, UnBound: Battle of the Half-Angels, the initial step in my writing process was to do some research on angels. The main characters are nephilim, which are for those that don’t know, the offspring of angels and humans. In my novel, a group of teenagers find out that they aren’t human, but rather nephilim. Upon finding out the truth about their parentage, their powers are unbound so that they can stop Lucifer’s latest plans for taking over the world.

Justin, a regular white teen, and Theo, a regular African-American teen, are just normal teenagers with their teenage problems, until the day they meet their biological fathers, Michael and Uriel, two of the few remaining archangels. They learn, they are nephillim, the half human offspring of angels, and they learn they are not the only ones. In the days of old, nephillim walked the earth. Their existence was forbidden, and their mere being alive represented a sin so great that it caused the angels to fall from the heavens. Eventually, all remaining nephillim were ordered bound and stripped of their powers. But the circumstances changed…

Fangs and Feathers – Updates by Ronnie Massey

The story that I’m focusing on now is titled Fractured Souls. I guess it’s appropriate that that particular story gets a little attention because it’s the sequel to my upcoming Copperhill Media release, UnBound: Battle of the Half-Angels. Fractured Souls picks up a few months after the events of UnBound, and will find one of the characters dealing with the ramifications of their actions in Unbound.
